What does it cost to have a shop do your timing belt?

Did your TDI break?? Talk about unique issues dealing with owning/driving/and servicing TDIs in the Arizona region. (Why did my window fall? What's a glowplug? What is all this goopy stuff falling out of my doors?)

I guess I know where I'm going to get mine done then! I'm due for a timing belt in 5,000 miles.

Definitely take it to Derek. He has a great shop, and is a great guy to do business with. I couldn't be happier that i got my belt done there.

I sometimes forget I'm a member here and forgot about Exklusiv Motorsports! My car just clicked 98,000 and I'm going to need my timing belt done soon. Time to save up! Does Derek also clean intakes or can anyone recommend someone who does? The last time my intake was cleaned was about 80K ago and I'm sure it's due. I'd do it, however, the last time I did it it turned out to be a disaster. It took much longer than it should have... mostly because my monster mits don't like tight spaces. So... let me know! Thanks!

Yeah last I heard Derek does intake cleanings. I just cleaned mine for the first time with 150,000 miles on the car. It was a huge pain! I'm not sure I'd want to do that again. I'd recommend either Derek or Steven over at Independent Auto. Derek won't set you back as much price wise.

Well, I had my timing belt service as well as an alternator replacement done by Derek and I couldn't be happier! I dropped it off last Wednesday night and it was ready Thursday afternoon! Great service! Thanks, Derek! I'd recommend Derek to anyone needing a VW service.
