diesel checkpoints around the valley??

My wife passed a "diesel checkpoint" on the 202 this morning. she was driving the gasser so she didn't have to stop. The signs read that all diesel cars and trucks must stop. Any idea what this is about?

Speculation on virtual jeep club is that they are looking for dyed diesel.

First reaction is to ask if this was in an area of the 202 that could accomodate all the big rigs that would be pulling off and queueing for inspection.

she said it was at cooper. There are a few large lots in that area. the virtual jeep club thread claims there was one on 99th ave and routinely on the 303.

First time I've heard of anything like this. Anything other than a dye check would be way "off the reservation", considering they were stopping cars as well as trucks.

They pretty much just check for dyed diesel...although I have never heard of a checkpoint IN the city on an urban freeway. Pretty crazy!

Whoa, that is crazy! Never seen or heard of anything like this in the City. So far I haven't run in to any check stations ever.
